Introducing Onyx & Rose

To further help provide the best beauty and wellness experience for our guests, Splitting Hairs Salon has teamed up with Onyx & Rose to bring you premium CBD products.

For those of you who don’t know, Cannabidiol (CBD) is found in the hemp plant and is just one of the many chemical compounds produced there in. It has been found to have many therapeutic benefits for the body and mind, and therefore has become one of the most intensively researched chemical compounds in the world. Some of the benefits include reduced inflammation in both muscles and joints, resulting in easier recovery and restored mobility. Many also claim to experience reduced anxiety and stress, which had led to healthier sleep patterns and overall mood improvement. Fortunately, CBD can be taken several ways, including ingestion (oils and capsules) and dermal absorption (balms and bath bombs). This allows CBD to be easily integrated in anyone’s daily life, creating a positive, lasting, and life-changing impact.

In order to meet the needs of any our guests, Splitting Hairs Salon has decided to carry a wide variety CBD products so that we can help find the right product for you. With an array of products including oils, capsules, balms, and bath bombs, we believe we have just what you need to help “extract more out of life!”

P.S. We even have a couple options for your furry friends! Onyx & Rose has a line of CBD Pet Oil and CBD Treats to help improve the health and well-being of your pets. Since Splitting Hairs Salon is pet-friendly and we know how much our guests care about their little loved ones, we knew we had to take care of them too.

Welcome to the New Look

A bird’s eye view of the new stations.

After months of hard work behind the scenes, Splitting Hairs Salon finally has unveiled its new look. The floors are complete, and every artist is now enjoying the one-of-a-kind stations, designed and built specifically for Splitting Hairs Salon.

We’ve worked very hard to make sure our clients have a delightful experience in the salon, and, to that end, the new look opens the space for more room, more light, and a much better view of all the fantastic artistry happening at each station.

We at Splitting Hairs Salon want to thank you for your patience, as we enter this new era of magic, beauty, and family.

Welcome Chyenne Smith

We are proud to announce the addition of a new stylist to the Splitting Hairs creative team. Chyenne’s aunts introduced her to the love of hair styling at an early age. She followed her dream to make beauty her career. She loves helping people look as beautiful and unique on the outside as they are on the inside.

When she is away from the salon, she enjoys spending her time reading, baking and relaxing with her husband and son, Parker.

When you see Chyenne in the salon, give her a warm, Splitting Hairs welcome.

Exciting changes are still happening

You may have recently noticed a few changes on the Splitting Hairs Salon website (such as the ability to book appointments online). Those changes are but a minor sign of things to come, as the salon is now under new ownership.

Old is the new “new”, as long-time familiar stylist, Martha “Navi” Ward, has become the owner of Splitting Hairs Salon.

The changes have already started to work their way from the virtual to the physical. The boutique is now a splendid memory and is home to stylists, where they work their magic. Not only will you see logistical alterations to the salon, but a number of major cosmetic changes are already in place (such as the new stations). Don’t worry, the same warm and friendly atmosphere will prevail, as Splitting Hairs Salon moves into a future filled with possibility.

If you have any questions about what’s in store, feel free to contact Navi via email or in person at the salon.

As always, thank you for your patience and patronage as we make this transition.

Ask the Stylist: Growing out hair

Q:  I’m trying to grow my hair out.  Why do I need a haircut?

A:  Even when your goal is to grow your hair longer, regular maintenance trims are still a good idea and should happen every 6-8 weeks.  Just a ¼ inch off the edges can make a huge difference in how the hair looks, feels, and behaves.  Unkempt ends can split, become fuzzy, and continue to unravel up the hair shaft, causing breakage, defeating the purpose of growing the hair longer.  Cleaning these edges up regularly can help to prevent this, and make the process less awkward.
